Professional Counseling Staff Minimize

The Healing Place is a ministry of Cross Timbers Community Church that is a place of prayer, hope, help and healing. Our desire is to offer a warm welcoming environment where you can come as you are and, where you will find comfort, acceptance, and support for challenging life circumstances. Like many churches, we offer spiritual guidance and encouragement through our pastoral staff. We also want to serve our community by offering fee-based Christian counseling and Support Groups. You can find a list of our Support Groups and details about Celebrate Recovery by clicking on the "Support Groups" link on the left of this page.

Our staff currently has several licensed Christian counselors who combine clinical expertise, with a scriptural foundation and prayer. They work with children, adolescents, families, singles and married couples. Whatever the issue, we are here to help.

Please contact us at thehealingplace@crosstimberschurch.org for more information about counseling appointments or any of our other services. We look forward to serving you.

It is our desire that whether you attend Cross Timbers or are just visiting our office, that you will find comfort and encouragement. We want to help provide you with the opportunity to feel that you have been able to share your hurts with people who can help you gain a greater perspective of what true love and healing feels like.

Michelle Fitzhugh is a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor (LCPC). She incorporates a Christ-based model for counseling with clinical methods and prayer. Michelle feels called to use her God-given gifts to minister healing to the broken-hearted. She has been married since 1995 and has two children. Michelle’s 16 years experience as a teacher and counselor are essential in relating and ministering to adolescents. Michelle enjoys working with couples, adolescents and families and has a special interest in blended families.

Beth Herrian is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and has been counseling individuals, couples and families since 1992. The major theory emphasized during her masters program was Family Systems Psychology. This gave Beth a good foundation to help hurting families find healing. Beth has been at THP since 2004. She has a strong desire to share God’s healing and hope with her clients. She has been married since 1984 and has 1 child.

Tricia Kane is a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor (LCPC). She has a wide range of experience as an educator, and a counselor. She joined The Healing Place staff in 2004. Her heart and passion is to minister healing, restoration and freedom to the broken hearted. She enjoys working with children, young couples, families, women and marriages. In counseling, she incorporates Biblical and psychological principles along with prayer into each session. She uses psychotherapy in a Christian context as a tool to help her clients understand God’s intentions and move toward wholeness. Tricia has been married for 19 years and has three teenage sons.

Chris Washam is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and has counseled since 1989. She uses Biblical principles and professional therapeutic methods to help clients find their way through the struggles and disappointments of life to a place of emotional and spiritual healing and wholeness. Chris works with women, men, adolescents, families and couples. She has been married for 18 years and has 3 kids.

Brady Robinson is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern (LPCI) and has been on staff at The Healing Place since August 2008. Brady owned and operated a technology consulting business in Denton for 10 years prior to his counseling career. Brady’s therapeutic approach engages clients in the exploration of their underlying beliefs with the goal of forming new, more Christ-centered beliefs about their present challenges. He is also trained in EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories.
