When you think of summer, what comes to mind? Family vacation? Sun burn? Summer love? For Cross Timbers, we think “Reel to Real” – a series that’s pretty much a tradition. For all of June and July, we’ll take some time extracting some truths from the Hollywood big screen. Our theme this year is love – what does the Bible say real love looks like? Join us as we take an in depth look at what God called the greatest characteristic of a Christ-follower. Bring a bag of popcorn, and be prepared for all the drama, laughter and tears that comes with learning how to live a life filled with a new kind of love … one that lasts much longer than the summer.

A Different Direction
Me, mine and more. Ever find yourself muttering these words to someone you love? People always say there’s no “I” in team. No one ever mentions that there’s no “me” in the word “love.” In 1 Corinthians 13 states “love is not self seeking.” Sure, it looks good on the embroidered pillowcase, but what does that look like in my every day life? Join us as we learn about the kind of love that always says “you."

Love is a Clean Slate
If we were all honest with ourselves, we would admit that we have a hard time living up to the verse in 1 Corinthians 13 where the Bible tells us that "love keeps no record of wrongs." This week we look at a movie that tells the story of people who have kept a record of wrongs, but choose to wipe the slate clean and enjoy the peace and joy that comes to those who love others with a clean slate.
